I have performed my second modification. Though I recently performed this mod only 2 days ago the Jeep is already showing signs of new life.

What I have done:

1. Cleaned the air intake box. The filter is in new condition and had been replaced recently.
2. Cut the groove.
3. Capped the pcv.
4. Cleaned and inspected the MAF sensor.

What I have noticed:

1. Instant response at the accelerator...
2. and I do not need to depress the accelerator as far while climbing the mountain roads where I live.

The odometer reads over 120,000 miles. I will be replacing the o2 sensors (these are original)
I will be adding the cleaners to both fuel and oil.

Aside from these small changes does anyone have other suggestions for this particular vehicle which would maximize the groove?

For starters, it's a perfect candidate for the MAPster.

When you get the new O2 sensors, go to the Chrysler dealer for them. It's tempting to get them from the local auto parts store (like 1/2 the price). Don't do it, go for the good ones. I have found aftermarket sensors to be totally inadequate. Just about anything else on the vehicle can work well with aftermarket parts. O2's are a unique animal.

Hi Mick,

Another thing Ron recommends is widening the gap on your spark plugs. His post about it is Service Bulletins and is titled "Regapping the Spark Plugs to deliver Maximum Power". It's the 3rd topic from the bottom on page 1.
