Hilarious! I have that exact same bottle.

Yeah, with the nicer weather finally here, those of us without a garage to work in can actually get out in our driveways and get some work done. I've been plotting/planning and gathering materials to make my moves too. I was at my local TSC store just this afternoon buying some fittings and tubing myself...for other things. In that section, they have water filtration canisters that are clear and can take pressure that are about the same size as your Roots bottle. I'm going to go that route I think.

Shut the front door!
I was just at tsc yesterday ordering day old chicks. I didn't have time to look around to see what they have.
I was just outside looking under the hood of my truck to see where I'm going to put this thing.

Ever since I've been thinking about them, I've been finding catch-can type things everywhere: at the hospital last week on a visit, and there at the head of every bed was one connected to oxygen or suction. hellooo medical supply houses...

hi guys. glad the Ice Age is finally receding. Sean David Morton likes to joke on his radio show about how everyone in Canada lives in igloos all winter, then in summer the igloos melt and the Canadians all just wander the praries till next winter...
Yeah, I just scored another metal water bottle like that one, but for something else this time...just 2 cents worth, ya'all might try putting a pot scrubber in there to act as condensation surface area to aid vapor drop-out, down at the cap end, I assume the cap will be the bottom...Mine has been working all winter, when it gets warmer, I'll drain it and show how much stuff it collected this winter. I consider this thing mandatory on Subie in winter. IT does work, it's easy
DIY stuff, glad you two are trying it, I look forward to Groovy news from you guys! And thanks for the nice detailed pics, Kev007! ;)

Hey guys
How's it going out there in gadget land.
Will I did the pcv reroute and it was an epic fail. I got a tone of milky condensation sludge that just passed through and back into the breather side of the valve cover. I found that doing the reroute that way, there wasn't enough vacuum to suck up the condensation vapors and it just collected back in the valve cover. So with that being said I wont being doing that again.

lots of short trips that never let the engine get up to temp?

I'm going to defer to Tracy's input on this...but my suspicion is a smaller diameter hose from PCV to can and a larger one back into breather from can might fix this. or maybe it's plumbing angles, water flows down hill etc...

I forget: have you tried the MPG remedy?

I drove up to Barrie from Oshawa and back. I think with the f150 it needs that vacuum pressure
