If any of you get a chance to groove a 5.0 engine, get ready for BIG time horsepower!!!
This was the first Ford vehicle with a manual transmission that I have done a groove on yet.
After performing the groove, I had to be careful not to go sideways on the gravel road because the horsepower difference was more then I ever expected.
I found 6 vacccum leaks on 2 vaccum hoses, idle air control valve, and upper intake manifold gasket. After repairing these, it ran even better.
The temperature readings were as follows:
exhaust manifold - 550 before, after 310
EGR - 140 before, after 125
water - 220 before, after 122
CAT - 402 before, after 255
tailpipe - 158 before, after 120

His comment on video was "it gained 50% in horsepower!!!!"
This was a very fun vehicle to test drive and we are looking forward to great mileage gains.
