I grooved a Scion XA, Just a few words to the wise if your going to be grooving one. First be aware you will need to take the filter holder (Bottom Half only) completely out, as it is in the way of several hoses that are in the back. During the groove I had a blowout on the throttle wall, and I had to fill in the air idle control opening to make the opening smaller. Using a 5/32 drill. I will get pics once I figure out how to add them, and will be giving a gas mileage report as soon as I get one. Had good throttle response. Car is a 5 speed and has 105 thousand miles on it.

Great Bill!

I think this may be the first of these. If your pics are in a PC, I just click on add file box on rt. side of Attachments at bottom of the Message box where you type your message. I click thru my computer to get to where the pics are stored, select 'em 1 at a time and click add file box. Im no computer guy (ask Ron!) :S but that's about how I do it. You can even insert pics into your writing at chosen places look for the insert box for that.

Anyhow I look forward to pics and more info on this one. Also--good to give info about engine size in topic description header.

I wish your Subaru guru son was closer so I could pick his Brain! lol! :P

And a message to all Gadgetfolks-- (helps if you saw the first Star Wars film) in the climactic battle scene at the Death Star, remember the emphatic words of Luke Skywalker's fellow X-fighter pilot Porkins who told Luke..." Stay on Target...STAY ON TARGET!" In the end of course Porkins and most/all of the other X fighters were shot down by Darth Vader and the other soldiers/pilots of the Dark Side defending the Death Star. But then Luke, using the Force, got the bullseye hit that took the Death Star out. In this sci fi fiction, in real war and life, in the end Good won out.

good is infinitely more powerful...stay on target...

Under the hood is a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder with variable valve timing. It's the same engine used in the Echo and xB, and it makes 103 horsepower.

Thanks for the pics, Bill. IAC port fill-in looks good to me.

I'm a bit confused by this IAC, is the filled in port below the throttle blade, on manifold side? I would expect so--but then there is the hose nipple also in the IAC casting, what's that about? Is it a charcoal canister purge?

And also there's the other nipple on upper left of TB, what's that for? It leads to the manifold vac. area under the throttle blade.

I bet that little 4 cyl. makes decent power, how does it like the Groove?

22% on a Scion! That's not too shabby my friend. HWY mileage usually goes up a greater percentage!

Oh, and would give me a call? 406-361-0491.

Good job!
