I was just called to reset the computer on a 2014 Nissan Murano convertible. But there was an issue that happened IMMEDIATELY on reinstalling the battery.

1) Trunk release didn't work.
2) The "Top Open" light was lit.

For the first, we tried resetting using the Alarm On function on his remote. (That'll reset some systems)

I unlocked and re-locked the vehicle using the key (that works on others). That didn't work.

Using the key, we unlocked the trunk. That didn't work.

I went to YouTube and forums. No info on this condition.

So, I pressed the "Close Top" button for the convertible switch and I heard the mechanism moving. I held it until it stopped.

BOTH problems SOLVED!

See? The ONLY way to fail is to QUIT TRYING!

That is a weird one alright, Ron! I wonder if I would have thought of it...dunno. That is odd enough to warrant a Youtube video post of it's own.

When it comes to dealing w/ all the electronics and esp. sensors (MAP, MAF, O2 and the rest) I will be following your, Greg. K.'s and others' advice and experience. I still indeed have much to learn and implement on that stuff! I thank you, Ron, in advance, for having your mind here to tap!
