Hi Folks!

Not only did I groove this car, but originally came to me with a coolant leak at the intake gasket - no surprise there. This is a common problem with these engines, also the 3.4 liters. Replaced the intake gskt with updated version with steel inserts in the corners to prevent the thermal expansion of the engine from losening the intake bolts.

Anyway, replace the gskts, spark plugs(over gapped from .060 to .072), and wires. Capped off the pcv and sealed around the port on top of the intake where the pcv got it's vacuum. Below are the numbers, pre and post groove.

Pre Post

Converter temp - 312 deg F 260 F
Left manifold - 345 deg F 280 F
Right manifold - 310 deg F 250 F
T Stat - 200 deg F 180 F
Inside vent temp- 135 deg F

Also, disconneted the battery cable during the repair and below are some scan tool data.

ST fuel trim -3
LT fuel trim -13
Inj. PW mS 3.5
IAC pos. 18
Engine load @ idle 3
MAP 11.3
TP% at 55 mph 7%

Except for the TP%, all figures are at idle.

Customer will monitor mpg. Exhaust smelled bad at first, smelled much better after road test.

NOTE: I did not make adjustments to TB for IAC, and it comes in directly in line with the bottom of the groove, so it has to affect the efficiency. Need some wisdom on how to reposition this.

Thanks for all your help!
