Couldn't resist, I had to take the Throttle Body modification all the way.
I reduced the Idle Air bypass port and also rounded off the bottom back edge of plate.
It was a fun time and thus far, everything works perfect when re-installed.

Will report on any increases that hopefully result.

Just the 'Groove' Only

Plate modification performed with small metal file & 220 grit sandpaper:

Hey JV that looks good, and thanks for the nice pics! Throttle plate smooth job looks very good, I'm guessing by pics the plate was fairly thick, no? What car is this TB for?

I like how you feathered the smoothing w/ sandpaper up towards the axle.

I gotta learn how to put the graphics onto pics like this  Good for you!

Thanks for the comments, I really enjoy doing this kind of work.

I never even seen a Throttle Body as I was never a 'car guy' until I heard of the 'Gadgetman Groove'
and this is the only one I seen/touched personly, so I can't compare plate thickness. But I got the impression it was fairly thick for it's function. ~1/8th inch maybe?

This TB is from a:

2000 Honda Civic Ex
Engine: D16y8 VTEC
SOHC (Honda D engine)
1.6 L
4 Cylinder Inline
Manual Transmission

P.S.
My intention was to put this thread under the 'Other' section of forum, not 'Groovy Vehicles'.

Well my hat is off to you, JV!

For me the Gadgetman Groove is just too cool, it's a real kick when ya do one of these and get real seat o the pants results, along with gains in mileage and much cleaner exhaust.

And by what I see you have a knack for this stuff, you have studied paid attention and I hope are seeing results! :woohoo:

I've had several "wow" moments in Groove-Land; w/power increases, one mind blowing MPG increase and I became a member of Muffler-Suckers Anonymous at Ron and Debbie's place in Phoenix last year.

And like you Ive tried to share my findings, and offer solutuions to issues as I've been able. I'm not the sharpest knife in this drawer but I'm willing to cut...

Keep at it, JV, keep us posted!
