Hello groovy guys and gals.
Glen here from Welland Ontario Canada.

As Ron says in the DVD ... be confident, be groovy.
Well my project started easily enough, no problems removing the TB from the engine.

However, and this is my first groove, I'm a Personal Licensee, upon inspection, I noticed that the IAC was at the bottom, and that the casting was very narrow there.
I was probably suffering from information overload, and couldn't seem to find what to do in the forums. Ron was uncharacteristically unavailable.
TODAY I HAD NO DIFFICULTY FINDING THE PROPER THINGS TO DO.
RON ALSO CALLED ON SUNDAY, WHAT A GREAT GUY!!

So, and remember, this is a success story, I decided to err on side of caution and used the medium sized bit.

I'm very happy with the quality , shape, depth, tightness of the groove created.

I re-assembled the TB, and completed the reprogramming of the CPU.

I strictly followed the initial re-programming of the CPU.

When I finally stepped on the accelerator, a gigantically enormous feeling of success surged throughout my entire being. :woohoo:

This minivan had always impressed me with its pep, but wow!!
When I backed off the pedal and tried to go 50 mph the van kept accelerating, I was going more than 80 mph, and still slowly accelerating when the Stop sign loomed large.

OK some stats.

THE DODGE HAS 118,00 KM
recently passed the new stricter Ontario emissions test.

For the last 2200 km the fuel economy was 22.6 mpg Canadian

As Ron recommended, I consumed about one quarter of a tank and here are the stats:
Combination city and highway driving
km 272.2
fuel used 28 liters
liters to go 100 km= 9.7214
or 26.6 mpg Canadian
initial increase of 4 mpg or 17.7%
I never got that great economy even in the summer on the highway.

Now for the list of my next steps:
Remove the TB, apply epoxy to thicken the thin wall at the IAC
RE-GROOVE USING THE LARGEST BIT.
CHECK MY CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND WHEN SATISFIED, RE-INSTALL EVERYTHING CORRECTLY.
Install the MAPster.

BY NOW EVERYONE HAS NOTICED THAT I HAVE YET TO MENTION THE pcv.
THIS IS A MITSUBISHI ENGINE, AND ON SATURDAY I WAS NOT ENTIRELY POSITIVE EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS.
TODAY, THANKS TO RON, AND MY LOCAL PARTS COUNTER, I AM, IT SCREWS IN TO THE MANIFOLD JUST BELOW THE TB.

WHEN I RE-DO THIS PROJECT I WILL TAKE SOME PICS.

Well folks that's it for now, in spite of a less than perfect modification, I am very happy.
I'm delighted to know that things will only keep getting better.
As Ron says This is a process!!

Hi Glen, let me be the first to welcome you to Gadgetman-Land!

I can sense your excitement, and yes it's a real kick to have success w/ the Groove!

A determined careful plan of attack as you documented is the best way to do it.

Was this a cabled TB or drive by wire?

I've not done one of these, so I will be glad to see your pics!

Keep at it buddy, Welcome to the Land of engine Efficiency! :)
