I use YouTube as my primary reference point for questions such as this. Your model Volvo is has the same intake from 2002-2006, so here's what I found...

I became curious about this system so I did a little research. Here's what I came up with on the crankcase ventilation system, so it's easier to understand:

The end result is you don't have vacuum loss due to crank ventilation, as there is no vacuum powering this system!

So, if you have The Groove, just "Drive it like you STOLE it!"
