I've noticed a lot of these wires attached to the PCV valve on newer vehicles. My wife's grandma drives a 2014 Ford Edge. Thank goodness the PCV valve is easily accessible but got concerned when I saw the wire attached to it. I don't know what to do with this wire.

I don't want her to get a check engine light or *knock on wood* something worse.

I hope to get help with this. Thank you.

p.s. I hope forums don't go away. I love these forums!!!

I don't have any vehicles that have this. I just did a google search and found this image. I noticed it's called heated PCV. Not sure what to do with the wire.

Juan leave the heater wire alone. It's there evidently to prevent icing of water vapor in the PCV system in winter. OK to do a standard PCV re-route, but leave the heater wire alone.
