I remember Ron once briefly mentioned a modification to the O2 sensors which involved resistors.
He offered a pair of resistors @ $5 ea. If I recall per one of his newsletters?

I believe the idea was to alter the signal to fool the ECU into thinking the A/F mixture was richer.
He left before I got a chance to look into it.

Does anyone know how to perform that mod?
I don't recall if the resistor was for the heater wires, signal wires or what.

I'm interested in experimenting a bit.

Here's a back-pocket idea: Ron mentions in that training piece, that oil/grunge deposits on outside of an O2 sensor can affect it's readings. I'm unsure of the exact effects of the grunge-but hey what does it cost to get underneath and wipe 'em off?

Oil and post-combustion deposits are likely why the upstream O2 sensors have such a short replacement interval.
Cleaner burning engines, of course, undoubtedly lengthen that interval. And cleaner burning engines are efficient engines.
Groove, PCV/AOS, MPGR...all the tricks likely make cars last longer.
