i have a 1996 subaru legacy awd, i have been trying to squeeze more mpg's out of, i tune newer subarus and was wanting more from this non tunable ecu, the afr i am happy with but really just wanted to be able to up the timing a bit. after much reaserch i found a popular modification for the 2.0 2.2 and 2.5 naturally asperated engines was to relocate the knock sensor from its stock location above the cylinders to a few inches back closer to the bellhousing. before doing this mod i ran some mid grade gas instead of the 87 i usually run. the result was a much snapier throttle and the car was cruising 5mph faster with the same throttle position, deff an increase in power ! i highly recomend this modification for the n/a ej engines
