It's been about 75 miles since putting snake oil in the truck (v-10 excursion, 2000) and the idle has increased from about 750 to 1000...

Hmmm... this could prove interesting.
I think the engine is delivering more power as I feel the transmission is shifting a bit rougher.
Maybe I will add the snake oil for automatic transmissions as well..

Don't just think about adding Snake Oil to the transmission - DO IT! (and transfer case, if this is a 4x4...and differentials. Get that newfound power to the wheels/road!)

As to your new high Idle - check all of your hoses and clamps especially as they pertain to the intake manifold: it sounds to me as if Snake Oil has helped you find a bit of a vacuum leak. That could also be what is causing hard transmission shifts.
