Hey Geoff,

There have been a few reports of switching to 87 Octane fuel... some intentional to find out what would happen.

Basically, everything that you are experiencing, including the ability to run on a lower octane are all effects of the Groove. Higher octane fuel is supposed to have a different burn effect for those vehicles that use it, by adding the Gadgetman Groove, the intake air profile has changed which in turn has changed the burn effect in the engine, thus making it possible to run 87 octane fuel over the 89 or 92 octane that takes more out of your pocket $$$.

What would be interesting to see is what your results would be at the track running the 87 octane over the "performance grade" fuel that would normally be expected there. :) ( You do keep your time slips, right?)

Sounds promising :)
