For over a year, I have been working with my daily commuter trying to get better fuel efficiency by utilizing the Gadgetman Groove throttle body modification. The CB7 model Honda Accord with the 2.2 liter F22A engine has a throttle body that allows a substantial amount of air to bypass the throttle plate. The Groove alone did not exhibit much of change with this configuration. So I partially blocked these ports which forced almost all of the air over the groove. This resulted in increased power and engine performance in addition to an increase of 20.7% in fuel efficiency. Pre-Groove average was 23.2 mpg post groove is 28 miles per gallon. I will follow up with posts outlining how I modified the intake airflow and report on the 5 gas analysis pre and post modification.
