Dumb question, but in all repairs/mods I've done to this '09 Camry, 2.4L, I've never come across a MAP sensor...

I've looked up this part and read forums by owners of the same car and it doesn't seem to have a MAP sensor? Couldn't find the part even if I needed a replacement.

Is it possible to not have a MAP sensor? Or is the device monitoring the manifold absolute pressure likely being called by a different name?

I have an MAF sensor, but that's upstream of even the throttle body...

I'd like to try this out if possible...but I might just be sh*t outta luck if the camry really doesn't have one..

Thanks!

Wes

Howdy, Wes!

Your vehicle has a MAP, but finding it is up to you!

Look up the Holley part #538-13. That's no matter the engine. Both the 2.4 and the 3.5 list this sensor for that vehicle.

Here's a pic from the Advance Auto site for another listing:

Haven't been able to find where it's located, but they apparently SELL one, so it probably HAS one. Check with a phone call to Toyota (any dealership's parts counter) and they will even email you a PDF diagram of the location if you ask!

(One of my little secrets!)

well, one thing is definite: It'll be on the intake manifold somewhere, downstream of the TB.
(I'm bucking for a promotion from Captain Obvious to Major...)

I just found the diagram for the breather system employed by Volvo and a few other manufacturers. It CERTIFIES that PASSIVE VENTING IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE!

Hoo-RAH!!! The industry is starting to catch up with US!!!!
