I have been experimenting with a new laser thermometer that I got at Harbor Freight for $49.99 hint, hint to all you gadgetmen and women out there.

I took a reading after I drove my 1992 s-10 blazer 10 miles.

The reading on the thermometer was 470 degrees on exhaust manifold!!!! The exhaust manifolds on engines are rated at 1800 degrees. PEOPLE this means that the temperature is nearly half the normal operating temp.

Also the water temperature was an astounding 138 degrees.( Think it's burning less fuel guys?}

To all my Gadgetmen partners, get a lazer thermometer and start recording before groove and after groove temps. You will be very pleased and your customers will see one more benifit to getting the groove. Less breakdown of oil and antifreeze and a much cleaner burning engine means a longer engine life.
