I own a 2002 Ford Explorer 4.6 V8 which i owned since new. Have traveled 110,000km's

I live in New Zealand and very happy with the Explorer which is used to tow a 3.5 ton horse trailer and would love to reduce e-missions & fuel consumption by using the Ron's wonderful Gadgetman groove process.
I can't seen to find the Grove process case study on Explorer 4.6 V8 2002/3/4.
Has any one undertaken the process as i am interested in the out come?

Thankyou
Mike Baillie

Hi Tracy & Dan
Thanks for the reply, my 4.6 has the cable throttle body.
To achieve the results, did you just undertake the grove modification?
Keen to get my vehicle grooved.
Thank you

Mike, those Ford 2 bbl. TB's are my fav's to Groove. Easy to do simple throttle bodies and every one I've done has responded great. Look in the Index area here in Ford to see examples. And I know Dan has something special to offer as well!

Get your Groove on! Rino Stoof, I forget his actual last name is a successful Gadgetman in New Zealand. Can't be THAT far away! Closer than a drive to the States anyway! wasn't he in a town called Hamilton NZ? anyone else remember, I'm too tired now to look...

Mike on the front page of the forum at the bottom right corner there's the words "user list" I think. Click on it and search for the user name Rino Stoof, join date was last year 2013. He was really tearing it up down there, is a very astute Gadgetman. but- we haven't heard from him in quite a while... hope he's still around and OK, probably is!

Hi again Mike. I searched thru many posts in several categories here in the Index. I can't yet find anything from Rino Stoof. Starting to think he (or somebody) deleted all his posts and info. A real shame as he was a great fellow and was doing Yeoman Groove work.

It looks to me that you now have several options: Make a new posting here title it something like Looking for a Gadgetman in NZ. Arrange to send in your TB to me or Dan so it can be Grooved by a Certified Liscence holder Gadgetman. Either of us can do a competent Groove job for you. Or- do it yourself by buying the Personal License bit/training kit. If you choose to send the TB to one of us here in the States, and don't want the vehicle down for a while, you could buy a replacement TB to send in, or have one of us do that. IF you are mechanically inclined, and have more than one vehicle to modify, I would recommend the PL kit. We are a helpful bunch here and would gladly give assitance to help you along! ;)

Look carefully through all the posts in Ford category in Automotive section if the Index, I've posted several of my own jobs there w/ pics. Fords are my favorite to do. The Gadgetman Groove has worked on every Ford I've done. Dan Merrick has his vapor tube kit to offer in addition. You could try the Aspirin MPG Remedy posted in the MPG Remedy thread and in the Acetone in fuel threads.

The PTB have seen to it that you must go out of your way to get improvements. We here have and continue to cut paths thru the brush and rocks on the way to Efficiency. We can always use more Pathfinders...
