this coming spring will be 4 years since I did Aaron's complete Plasma Ignition system re-do on the Subie. In that whole time, I have not replaced the plugs, cap or rotor. Haven't needed to. Only failures I've had were 2 GM HEI Ignition modules, that failed from heat issues. I solved that by mounting the HEI on a small heat sink, with a used computer fan.
Only reason for that HEI added mod, was to replace the 25+ year old stock OEM ignition amplifier module in the dist. body. I didn't want to hold the whole Plasma mod hostage to such an old electronic part. I mounted the HEI module on it's heat sink setup on the firewall, separate from the dist. body.
The Plasma was an involved mod for me, I'm glad I did it. Very few will go to this length. In addition to all the improvements in engine performance, the Subie now just LOVES wet weather. This seems to bear out claims of what happens when moisture interacts w/ this type of "Spark".
but, GUESS WHAT... For hardly any work, an engine can get a "free benefit" of better power and torque, by simply doing Ron's proven plug gap mod!! Compared to what I had to do to get the Plasma, it's a real No Brainer!

the plug gap mod is a part of the Groove Power System.
