Hi guys, i just grooved my wife's falcon. .
The main thing I wanted to do was to fix the ghastly smell coming from the exhaust pipe. It smelt like strong atomized petrol, it would bring tears to the eyes.
The first thing I did was chase a groove from the iac pathway outlet cavity straight up to rim, then I drilled a hole down from the middle of the rim down to join the chase. I then put a plastic straw into the chase, covered the chase up with epoxy and smoothed it down. I chased along the rim to directly above the butterfly axis and then put a 1/8th hole into the tb wall.
(I had to make sure that the cavity was filled in deep coz it was located where the groove would go through.)
When the epoxy set, I took the iac attachment off and pulled out the straw from below.
When I put in the groove I cut through the wall, I epoxied the outside wall in the shape of a small mound along the grove line and then prettied it up with the "dremel" tool. It all ended up OK.
I then capped off the pcv hose and blocked the hose entrance to the tb.
My son Kieren widened the spark plugs by 20% for me.
I then conditioned the ecu, took it for a drive like I stole it, (only for a little bit) and came home.
No petrol smell from exhaust pipe, just hot air.
And that was that.
Awesome!
