Hi Tracy / Everyone

Been a busy time for me with changing jobs but will be shifting in the next month or so and when I get settled in at the new place I will be getting right back into getting the car more fuel efficient - now that I am driving the car every day doing more city driving I need to save more fuel running costs !

Price of fuel here in NZ has taken a big dive over the last few months and recently when I filled up I thought I had put the cheaper "91 Fuel" in by mistake haha! But they say some good things don't last as the price of fuel is slowly climbing again. Even though the price of fuel is currently cheaper I believe there is still room for improvement for more fuel savings !

Attached is a graph of my fuel manager app of the price of fuel filling up my car for a year - I had some trouble sending it off my iPhone today

hi there Mike, same story here on gas prices, I watched it sink 4-5 cents a gallon every 2-3 days. Then starting about a week back, it started climbing, it's gone up 20-35 cents a gallon in past week. Ya can't count on price stability, count on your own skills and add to them here! we all look forward to hearing more on the famous Lucino and you exploits, Mike!

smooth seas, Mate!

I just wanted to mention, in the news yesterday it said there is a large typhoon coming south towards New Zealand, it was supposed to be category 4 yesterday...that's nothing to fool with!

so Mike, I hope it has passed NZ by, or if it hits, that your ship isn't out in it. I know, however often ships put to sea to ride out storms rather than be battered in port. Be safe friend, all the best to you and yours!! gawsh, I'd want no part of anything like this...

Hi Tracy

The wind has just got up in Wellington this afternoon to be honest its just like a normal "Windy Wellington Day" I did go out driving this afternoon and poured with rain driving into the city and their was some surface flooding on the expressway.

I think up north power was lost to a few hundred homes but not sure if there was any major damage. I actually start back on the ship tonight in a few hours time so might be a bumpy trip the next few days .

As far as the car goes I haven't done more work, I will change the Frantz oil filter toilet roll tomorrow. I am actually shopping around to purchase a house with a garage and hoping to buy in the next month and will get back into mucking around with the car afterwards.

Cheers Everyone

Mike, Have you poked around on Justin's Greener Planet Enterprises website? He offers reusable oil filters (with a washable steel element) - no trees are harmed in the filtering of your oil.

Maybe you could combine shipping with RVS if you haven't done so yet...

Mike, glad it sounds like NZ didnt get slammed like Vanautu did...but stay safe on the upcoming voyage, OK? I might have hit upon a slight revision to the MPGR method, I just did one additional thing, and the car is liking this tank w/ MPGR a lot better than before...
W :cheer:
and good luck w/ your house shopping, can't imagine doing that myself... :cheer:
