Hello ya'll
This is a little off topic for the groove but could turn out to be groove hopefully.
I have a 1950 John Deere MT 2 cylinder tractor with a steel carburetor. When I tried to rebuild carburetor I broke the lower needle valve holder housing off. It is a clean break no cracks or particles around it.
Does anyone know if JB Weld or something like it can be used to put needle valve holder back on ??
If I get this thing fixed I am going to groove it but not with my only groove tool -- will find a way to groove it

Hello Dan
I am putting 1/2 aspirin per gallon now thats 16 aspirin to 32 gallon tank with "6 oz" not 3 oz alcohol, 1 oz HEET and 1/2 oz hydrogen peroxide filtered with paper tea filter.
1/2 aspirin seems a little low. Can this be increased to 1 per gallon ? Or more ?
Can I increase the other parts as well ??
Any info on this would be great.
geraldc

Thanks Dan
I will keep same number for now then when I get the liquid aspirin will find a way to use same amount again
hydrogen peroxide added to gas reminded me of adding something to locomotives fuel tanks -- Do not know what it was but about 5 #s seemed like every 6 months to control alga -- I repaired these tanks alot during my 34 yrs -- have seen inside of tanks which did not have alga control -- it was not a pretty sight

You can add more but it wont make alot of difference as we are just cracking the surface tension of the fuel its a chemical cracker. Ive done lots of tests and it doesnt hurt to add more but it works as well with less. So its your choice. The way to test this is test tube alittle heat gas or dsl and add a drop of the acid and watch the reaction under a microscope. This will bring the fuel to life. It will change the vapor point,so will acetone except this wont harm anything else in the process. The oil companys have known this for years around 1966. It is what they used on different types of fuels to control vapor points. Happy Grooving

Hello Gerald .......Look on Ebay for your tractor parts I saw some rebuildable carbs. for cheap, also carb. kits and also rebuilt carbs for your M T..Some of the replacement carbs looked to be aluminum , may be good for your grooving......Greg P

Thanks namtegdag Ky. -- yes many carbs on ebay and other rebuilders. And I am going to try to fix this one as an experiment, I rebuild it about 2 years before it broke and it ran great. This is my potato planting tractor I will have it running soon
Thank Ya'll

my 1997 chev 1500 350 vortec using "6 oz" not 3 oz EverClear with 16 aspirin from Atlanta to Savannah ga gained 1.58 mpg. at 16.46 mpg now
Was using rubbing alcohol wow a big difference now using 190 proof grain alcohol

Have put in all 4 O2 censors and did computer relearn about 1 hr I think --
found transmission mount broke - replaced it

my 1997 chev 1500 350 vortec using 3 oz EverClear with 8 aspirin from Atlanta to Savannah ga 15.7 mpg up from 14.1. so something is going on with computer adjusting little by little

update 7-23-14
have found and fixed exhaust last mpg 14.2 -- filled up applied aspirin so maybe need to run 2 tanks to see if computer is changed by O2 sensors

update 9-14-14
using 3 oz EverClear with 8 uncoated aspirin ( yes did find uncoated aspirin ) fillered with 4 layers of white kitchen paper towels mpg is down to 13.4 mpg. This problem of not keeping mpg gain could be computer program. Is there a way to change code in truck computer program ???

update 1-23-15
1997 chev 350 vortec with about 17k on it. With 8 aspirins uncoated 3 oz 190 proof Everclear and H2O2 (little dab) last tank 32 gallons from Stone Mountain (emission control gas)--- 16 mpg ---
-- new way to dissolve aspirin putting 8 aspirin in --- H2O2 first --- and dissolves very fast then add EverClear filter add to gas at fillup. So far 1/4 aspirin per gallon works for my truck.
--- still can not find out what is in emission gas that not in non - emission gas in Savannah Ga. at home regular gas. But what ever it is does make my mpg go up an average of 3 mpg gain with gas from Stone Mountain. Still looking
geraldc

--- just for info aspirin dissolved in H2O2 as I watched it -- did not have time to walk fast 50 ft and back

:) -- For dissolving my 8 uncoated aspirin used H2O2 and watched all 8 dissolve quickly. Is this a bad way to dissolve these aspirin ?? When dissolved put in 3 oz EverClear 190 proof, filter 4 layers white kitchen paper towels and sealed in mason jar.

still looking for the added ingredient in Kroger regular gas between emission and non - emission gas. Kroger nor EPA will answer this question. Maybe need a lab to find out what it is .

Gerald I think you're on right track. H2O2 does a good job of dissolving aspirin. I just got a 1 LB. jar of pure aspirin powder from amazon for $12.65 shipping included. Only glitch for me is in Nevada, we only have 150 or so proof Everclear while most other states allow 190 proof. My next batch I'll try the aspirin powder, w/ 35% H2O2, and my lower proof Everclear, and I'll report here how it goes. I like not having fillers/ w/ aspirin.

-- TracyG wish could help with EverClear 190 proof works great, As for H2O2 35% not really needed, only thing H2O2 needed for is breaking surface tension only need small amount for that. My 32 gal tank gets about 1/2 oz H2O2 (regular). At work would put about a gallon of H2O2 type stuff in 4,000 gallon locomotive fuel tank about every 3 years if records were right. H2O2 breaks surface tension and stops algae from growing.
-- Can not get an answer to my emission / non - emission gas question so will start adding different gas additives until I find one that works.

Oh my bad H2O2 stops algae from growing in tank -- aspirin does crack surface tension
